CHEC Annual Report 2023CHEC’s Annual Reports, providing details on the activities for each year. Currently, Annual Reports from 2007 - 2024 were published digitally. The 1996-1999, and 2001 -2006 reports have been digitalised. Previous Annual Reports exist prior to these in hard copy – please get in contact if you are interested in looking at any older versions of our publications. CHEC is working on digitising the rest of the back catalog of hard copies for our webpage.

CHEC Annual Report 2025

The CHEC 2025 Annual Report, published in May 2026, covers the breadth of CHEC's work in its 56th year, with a strong focus on climate action, community resilience, and sustainable development across the Commonwealth. The report features project spotlights on the Solar for Schools II installation in Nigeria — which restored computer access to students at Emo Eni Grammar School in Delta State — and a special report from Fiji on sustainable menstrual hygiene practices delivered to women in remote highland villages in partnership with Earth Sisters Fiji. Toward the end of 2025, CHEC also began four new projects in Uganda, Kenya, India, and West Africa, addressing food security, agroforestry, women's empowerment, and urban climate resilience. CHEC sent delegates to COP30 in Belém, Brazil, where the organisation hosted a Blue Zone side event titled An Insider's Blueprint: A Lifetime of Proven Climate Action on the Ground, in partnership with the University of Birmingham Institute for Sustainability and Climate Action (BISCA), the Commonwealth Sustainable Energy Transition Youth Action Group (CSET Youth), and the Amazon Charitable Trust. The report also includes CHEC's latest journal publication, Critical Minerals and Rare Earth Elements in the Commonwealth, released in October 2025. CHEC it all out in the 2025 Annual Report!

CHEC Annual Report 2024

The CHEC 2024 Annual Report, published in September 2025, highlights our continued commitment to addressing climate change, with a particular focus on the 32 Small Island States within the Commonwealth. In 2024, CHEC concentrated a significant portion of its project activities in the Pacific region, aligning with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) held in Samoa. Within this region, CHEC supported initiatives designed to enhance community resilience to climate-related impacts, promote sustainable resource management, and facilitate collaboration between local organizations and government entities.
Toward the end of 2024, CHEC participated in COP29 in Baku, ensuring that the perspectives and priorities of Commonwealth nations, especially small island states, were prominently represented in international climate negotiations.

CHEC Annual Report 2022

CHEC Annual Report 2023

The 2023 Annual Report was published by CHEC in September 2024 and provides a comprehensive overview of CHEC’s initiatives and achievements over the past year. Highlighting key projects in human ecology in Gambia, India, and South Africa, the report details collaborative efforts and community engagement strategies aimed at fostering sustainable practices. CHEC was involved in a number of international events - including COP28, The Commonwealth Youth Ministers Meeting, and the annual conference of Society for Human Ecology - CHEC it all out in the 2023 Annual Report!

The 2022 Annual Report was published by CHEC in November 2023 and covers everything that CHEC was involved in throughout the year. CHEC successfully managed several projects in India and Nigeria, with a special project spotlight section on our Solar for Schools project in Nigeria. CHEC also sent a delegation to Kigali, Rwanda for CHOGM and had a successful visit to the People’s, Youth, and Business Forums.

CHEC Annual Report 2021

The 2021 Annual Report was published by CHEC in November 2022. It provides details on CHEC activities in 2021 including the successful implementation of a number of projects in Sierra Leone, India, and Kenya, as well as the attending of a number of key events including the COP26 Summit in Glasgow, United Kingdom. The report offers insights into the impact of these efforts and outlines future objectives aimed at fostering a more sustainable and inclusive world.

CHEC Annual Report 2020

The 2020 Annual Report was published by CHEC in July 2021. It covers all that CHEC was involved in throughout the year that the world was impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. In the year that CHEC successfully managed mangroves projects, felt the impacts of the pandemic in our bees and pollinators project and became a virtual organisation, there is certainly a lot to catch up on.
