"Weathering the storm? There's no weathering the storm, we're in the middle of the height of the storm." The Republic of the Marshall Islands Finance Minister Hon David Paul responding to the event's theme "Weathering the Storm: Bridging the Resilience Finance Gap for Small Islands". He went on to say "It's not just one major climate event that's affecting us, it's a long series of escalating climatic events." Small island states and small island developing states are the most vulnerable nations to the increasingly disastrous effects of the climate crisis. An excellent event this morning at the UK Pavilion "Achieving a step change in gender equality for a successful energy transition" which centred on the need for a sustainable energy future and the integration of SGD5 - Gender and SGD7 - Energy. The panel discussion featured a keynote speech by The Rt Hon Anneliese Dodds MP and thoughts from a great panel, which included our friend @angelos.pastoir from @csetyouth, with whom we have a side event here at COP29 on the 21st of November! @emmer804

Trust us to lead you, because we are doing this for humanity" Indigenous cultural knowledge is a largely under-utilised resource in the global fight against the effects of the climate crisis.
