Dr. Janine Pierce

Dr Janine Pierce is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of South Australia involved in researching and teaching. Janine has researched and published in the areas of ethics, sustainability, educational methodology, and community, and has presented at many international conferences. Janine has been a consultant in projects with the Australian and Vietnam government in working with Australian Council of International Agricultural research in social and environmental impact assessments, and community researching in Australia. She has also researched in China and India. Her particular area of research involves Photovoice to enable community consultation and community voice.

In earlier years Janine worked as a management consultant, and facilitated job creation programs for the disadvantaged. She is a member of the Board of Aquaculture without Frontiers (Aust).

Governing Board Member

Janine is an active member of Rotary, having received in 2021 the Premier’s outstanding volunteer service award. Her volunteering is in areas with the homeless, refugees and migrants, and the aged. Janine has a B.Bus, M. Bus. and a PhD in area of sustainability.

Janine’s personal identification is as a human ecologist. Her interests are in sustaining people and planet, particularly in times of climate crisis, and ensuring community members gain a voice to reach decision makers.
