“We are honored to have received the formal endorsement of YOUNGO, the official constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). This endorsement reflects the credibility and significance of our initiative, further emphasizing the importance of empowering young voices to take action on climate change and sustainability. The primary objective of our youth conference is to organize a national platform for youth leaders, marginalized communities, and stakeholders to come together and discuss innovative solutions to the pressing challenges we face in Samoa.

By fostering dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration, we aim to catalyze tangible projects that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and contribute to building a more sustainable and resilient future. Additionally, the immediate outcomes will contribute towards shaping the Global Youth Statement (GYS) in the lead-up to COP28. The long-term objective is to increase youth capacity in the UNFCCC process via YOUNGO to develop negotiators, experts and practitioners to shape our future.”
