Dr TI Khan, Governing Board Member of CHEC presents his report from the XXVI International Conference of the Society for Human Ecology (SHE). The report highlights key challenges and opportunities in environmental management, resource utilisation, and community engagement. Emphasising evidence-based strategies, it offers actionable recommendations to policymakers and stakeholders aimed at fostering resilient and inclusive growth. His report underscores the importance of collaborative efforts to address ecological and socio-economic issues within the Commonwealth framework.

Ecology, Poli􀆟cs, and Jus􀆟ce: Working Towards the Pluriverse

University of Mons, Belgium: June 18-21, 2025.

The conference was hosted by the University of Mons, Belgium. Most mee􀆟ng ac􀆟vi􀆟es were held in the Rosa Parks Building (Avenue Frère Orban, 9) with a variety of classrooms and mee􀆟ng spaces. Mark Robinson, Chair, CHEC, London, Prof. T.I.Khan, Governing Board Member, Eva Ekehorn, Former Honorary Secretary and CHEC Patron, ac􀆟vely par􀆟cipated in The SHE Conference.

The city of Mons is the Capital of Hainaut province in Belgium’s Walloon Region, and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At its center is the Grand Place, a large cobblestone square do􀆩ed with cafes. It is lined with buildings in a mix of architectural styles, notably the centuries-old Town Hall. Nearby is the 17th-century baroque belfry, with sweeping city views. The belfry is on the edge of verdant Parc Château, home to the 11th-century Saint-Calixte Chapel.

Prof. T.I.Khan, gave a preseta􀆟on on Genesis, Growth and Influences of Human Ecology, in India and specially in University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, India. During the Discussion, Mark Robinson was introduced to the audience, elaborating on the role of CHEC London in the Commonwealth. It was very highly appreciated and a standing ova􀆟on was given to Mark.

Prof. T.I.Khan delivered a full length Lecture on “Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainability”.
