CHEC Partners with the University of Birmingham, CSET Youth, and the Amazon Charitable Trust for Blue Zone Event at COP30 in Belém
CHEC is pleased to announce a new partnership with the University of Birmingham and the Amazon Charitable Trust for the COP30 Official Blue Zone Side Event titled "An Insider’s Blueprint: A Lifetime of Proven Climate Action on the Ground." CHEC maintains its ongoing partnership with the Commonwealth Sustainable Energy Transition Youth for the event.
This event will spotlight Stories of Resilience, providing a platform for indigenous leaders, conservationists, youth activists, and researchers to share their experiences and insights. The focus will be on the essential role of equal collaborations in advancing climate action and delivering solutions that are deeply rooted in local knowledge.
Through these shared stories, the event aims to highlight how such partnerships contribute to a just transition, ensuring climate solutions are inclusive, effective, and sustainable. CHEC looks forward to engaging with diverse voices committed to pushing the boundaries of climate innovation and resilience.
The upcoming event on Climate Action will be moderated by CHEC Youth Advisor Abhiir Bhalla and will bring together a distinguished panel of experts from the UK, the UAE, and Brazil to share their stories and insights.
Speakers include CHEC’s own Dr. Kate Martin, Dr. Liza Jabbour, and Dr. Helen Onyeaka from the University of Birmingham, who will provide perspectives rooted in academic research and community engagement. From the UAE Climate Network, Dr. Sam Mao will contribute expertise on regional climate initiatives and sustainable development. Representing the Amazon Charitable Trust, Dr. Emanuela Evangelista will highlight conservation efforts in the Amazon rainforest. Additionally, Alda Brazão from CoopXixuaú will speak on indigenous-led environmental actions and cooperative models from Brazil.
